Jeff and Katie headed out to Atlanta, GA last week to attend the Energy & Environmental Building Alliance’s (EEBA) High Performance Home Summit, for 3 days of learning, networking and collaboration with high performance building professionals from across the United States and Canada. As a winner of the Housing Innovation Award, we were also attending to accept the award and to see who won the Grand Prize in each category of Custom Buyer, Custom Spec, Affordable, Multifamily, and Production. Drum roll please…
Casa Águila received the Grand Prize in the Custom Buyer Category!
This year was the most competitive year the Department of Energy has ever had and we are honored to have received such a prestigious award. According to Sam Rashkin, chief architect at DOE’s Building Technologies Office, “Housing Innovation Award winners represent the top 1% of builders across the country who successfully demonstrate they can meet the federal government’s most rigorous specifications for high-performance homes. Zero Energy Ready Homes are designed to provide a whole new level of home owner experience, including ultra-low utility bills, ensured comfort, comprehensive water protection, whole-house fresh air delivery, high-capture filtration, contaminant control, and enhanced durability.”
